Coolant Recommendations

I have a water pump starting to seep a little coolant that I'm going to change out this offseason. The coolant in the engine now is orange-redish in color, is this just Dex-cool? The Mercruiser coolant is kinda pricey. (almost $20/gallon premixed), 2005 496 HO with closed cooling.

Speaking of anti freeze - Lets talk Volvo diesels. Local dealer told me to look at the color that's in them - Well in the port engine i have red and the Starboard I have green - so there goes the Dealers suggestion - he said either Yellow or Green. So what are the rest of you guys using?

What year are your Volvo diesels? I have 2007 D6-350's and green coolant is what is required per the manual and my techs. I moved away from Volvo Penta's ready-mix green coolant as the freeze protection in only good to -11 degrees Fahrenheit. I am in MN so needed better protection and now using Valvoline's Zerex Original Green ready-mix (ZXRU1) which is good to -35 degrees.
