Im thinking about a led tv install on the forward bulkhead between the front speakers. Looking for some discussion around 12v or 110v and location, marine or regular tv.... winter banter.. spring project.

thanks for all the advice guys ... ;D Well went out and got a iSymphony LED19iH55D... on sale for like $150. Its got a 12v output wall wart that I plan on cutting off and wiring directly to the water pump power in the bow and attaching the tilt mount directly between the 2 speakers up front. Any advice of how to remove this panel before I go taking it all apart? Is this panel sufficently bolted to the boat to support the weight of the tv or will it require additional beefing up? Please, Im sure someone had done this before or at least done a speaker replacement.

I have had that panel out a few times before. I believe that there is only 2 screws holding it in at the top. The bottom sits in a notch above the tank and is basically wedged in there. Don't think I would hang 5 lbs. or so off that panel without some sort of reinforcement.

the panel that sits in the notch near the tank is the lower one I believe and I have had that out before to clean the filter on the water pump. im talking bout the upper panel with the speakers in it.

Got the panel off tonight, nothing holding it as far as screws or anything. There is a screw at the top but it acts more like a pin that lines up with a hole in the headliner panel. Im going to build a wood spacer that will fill the void between the the panel and the back of the anchor locker. Some long thru bolts and sealant should do the trick. Wires will run between the two panels and follow the hoses to the 12v source at the water pump. Also going to install a 3A inline fuse that will be accessable from the lower panel access.

progress... made the backer block, got the hardware, and put it all together to glue the block to the panel. Next will be drilling the holes into the anchor locker and tighten some bolts.. Drilled the block on the drill press to ensure everything is straight. Also had to rip the 2x4's one the table saw to get the correct depth. 2X3's would have been perfect but the ones I had seem to be really soft wood.

Balmy weather up here in NY almost 60 today ;D, got some work done tonight. Only thing left to do is install the new deck and run the wire for the tv audio. From the looks of it, running that wire is going to kill me. We'll see...Also found about a gallon of water under the water tank... hmmm?!?
