Hey folks,

Quick question. There is a port on the rear (Stern) of the boat that when I open it there is a mini extension cord inside. I just purchased this boat and there were no manuals (I wasn't happy about this) so I'm wondering if this is to charge the batteries or is it a version of shore power?

can you supply a photo? Where are you on Winni? I boated up there for years before the Admiral made me move to the salt.

We came down to Pt. Judith. It's a great area because it is close to everything. The run to Block is like going from Weirs to Wolfboro, Newport is a little further, Montauk from Block is a run across the Broads. By land there are great restaurants, easy access to Newport or Watch Hill, etc. I think the issue for you is the commute. Not sure where you are in S. NH, however, you may have to come down through Boston and Providence traffic which can be brutal. My guess is that this area might be a bit too far for you, so maybe just the Providence/Warwick area of Naragansett Bay. Great boating, generally protected and access to all the same areas I just mentioned - only a little further. I can day trip them and you would just make them overnights. Again, that is if you can access the RI area from S. NH. One of the main reasons the Admiral put the stop to Winni was the ride (123 miles, 2 hrs 10 mins, unless you hit traffic, then forget it). Pt Judith is 60 and shaves an hour at least. I'm assuming you are going to end up in that Merrimack/N. Shore area that I am certain is very cool, but I know nothing about. Not gonna lie to you - the boating is different. FAR more work simply cleaning your boat before and after use. Way more preparation and planning for every day on the boat. There are no 'I'm just gonna take the boat out for an hour' days. An hour boat ride seems to be 3 hours for me every time. I carry far more safety gear and make safety preparations. Jt took me a couple of years to get my boating experience in the salt to fulfill Winni. And I had to adjust my expectations. It's a different animal and I treat her as an angry one at all times. A confused Broads on a busy Sat is a piece of cake.

Sorry for the super late reply on this. I just realized that i didn't have the box checked for notifying me when there are responses to your thread. I figured it out, it is a shorepower hook up. Their just not using the beefy twist lock plug that most of the boats use for shorepower.
