    2001 260SS with a 496 MAG with Bravo 3 Performance Issue

What does the bottom look like? I agree with above, if that motor can't spin the 22p up to redline, then it will never spin a 26 pitch to full speed.

    8.2 Gas Engines in 41PC

I can imagine that boat would suck down the fuel. I suspect they were ordered that way on lakes where you didn't have far to go normally.

Losing Coolant, Found it on Seawater Side

I agree, you should not lose engine coolant. Remove the heat exchanger and have it tested/rebuilt over the winter. I also agree with draining all the engine coolant, and changing it while changing the exchanger. There are rubber gaskets between the exchanger and block, also a good time to...

Change Battery Configuration (separate house from start battery bank)

My 34pc is setup as follows: Port: 2 x Group 31 deep cycle house, windlass, thruster, port start Starboard: 2x Group 27 agm start batteries Gen: 1 x Group 24 start battery I just replaced the two Group 31's and had the same thoughts as you. I used odyssey AGM group 31 deep cycle batteries...

    Battery drain

How old is the battery, and what type/size? Is it always on a charger, what about winter? It may have just lost it's capacity over the years. Otherwise you need an amp meter to monitor load on the battery and start disconnecting loads to see what they pull / determine if it's more than normal.

vacuflush not working - green empty and red full both on

Yes, it looks like dometic still makes it, but my limited searching only found the whole kit, senders and lights. There are different heights, but when you pull it out it's easy to measure. I was looking for just the sender assembly since I had a snapped vent fitting. Wound up machining a...

vacuflush not working - green empty and red full both on

Cutting the wire would be my last resort. Unscrew the sender (after pumping and flushing the tank a bunch to make it nicer). There is a vent hose and 1 connector on it. You can then take this out into a bucket and clean it up. Using a digital multimeter (they are now cheap enough everyone...

    Sea core package on 8.2

I installed B3X seacore drives as replacements on a 34pc with 496mag. I have no issues at all, oil looks great every year when I change it. Seacore is not related to the strength of the drive, it's simply a coatings/corrosion prevention system. Your boat may need a B3X or bigger. 39' on gas...

‘04 34 PC Starboard Engine Removal?

Apparently there is no way to edit or I can't find it.. Sorry about the multiple posts.

‘04 34 PC Starboard Engine Removal?

Isn't it easier at that point just to pull both engines? Since you have to pull the hatch either way, and pulling engine mount bolts is easier than doing manifolds in tight quarters, oh and getting to the port starter wires.

‘04 34 PC Starboard Engine Removal?

My 07 34pc the starboard engine can come out easy, the port engine has to come out only after the starboard engine.

    Generator battery charger failed

I went with the ProMariner 44006, and did cut the end off the plug. However, it looks like promariner has been getting questions on this and came up with a nifty solution: ProMariner 51300 Black Univeral AC Plug Holder. No more cutting.

    Underpowered PC ?

That sounds very underpowered. Where do you plan on using it?

    Engine room Insulation, 07 34pc

For me it was purely cosmetic. The foam was very degraded, it went through a very damp winter and got lots of mildew on it. When I tried to clean it it just fell apart. There was no backing on it like Comodave's - I wish, it was just soft foam glued right to resin coated plywood. . When I say...

    Engine room Insulation, 07 34pc

I saw your post, and think you had a different product in the 41 than my 34pc. There was no way at all I could use the old insulation as a template for the new, it crumbled into pieces coming off because it was glued so well. The only one that was easy was behind the generator, that was a much...

    Engine room Insulation, 07 34pc

I pulled the engines and generator to have good access to clean and fix some maintenance items. During this process I tried to clean the sound insulation but failed, so decided it's time to change it out. Maybe because it's still fresh I think it was a bad choice but this is not an easy job...

    Cleaning engine room foam insulation

I am doing a bunch of bilge cleaning this year, and have engines/generator out. I took the waste tank out also, it seems a broken vent line allowed caused some issues. There's a lot of mold build up and the foam insulation and waste hoses concentrated around the waste tank outlets. Is there a...

    Bravo 3 drive props ( timing )

There is no keyway, and I never bothered to align the props. However, I'm interested if there is something here. I just figured they were counter rotating the whole time so what would be the point of aligning anything?
